Walker has a bright future ahead!

After accepting an invite to the Reese’s Senior Bowl and declaring for the NFL draft, Tez Walker will opt out of the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. He was one of the Tar Heels top receivers and was impressive in his shortened season.

Long Season

Although his time with UNC was cut short, it was still a long one for Walker. After his waiver was denied (even though he did everything right), he and North Carolina did all they could to get him eligible. After sitting out of the first three games, Walker finally got the news that he would be able to go before the Heels played Syracuse. He immediately became a big target and Drake Maye’s top deep threat.

Sitting Out

Walker will not play in North Carolina’s bowl game. This was first reported by InsideCarolina. Many players have done this over the years. Playing in a bowl that isn’t for a national championship and risking injury does not outweigh staying healthy and ensuring you will be ready for the NFL combine. As Walker is expected to be drafted in the first three rounds, it is a decision for which he should not be faulted, as he will be making life-changing money.

Hopefully, Walker will have an amazing NFL career. Best of luck, Tez!
