Big day for Anthony!

Former North Carolina point guard Cole Anthony had a great game against the Charlotte Hornets. Now in his fourth season, Anthony has continued to improve his game. Usually a sixth-man, he has been a big spark off the bench. On the season, Anthony is averaging 14.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

Hot Against the Hornets

Anthony has been hot in the past against Charlotte. Tonight, he went off for 30 points on 9/16 shooting. Anthony made 11/12 of his free throws and also added seven rebounds and seven assists. The talented guard has grown each year. It would be nice to see him start on another team where he can take control and potentially see even more minutes. The Magic backcourt is loaded, and there are too many guards to split all of the minutes. Anthony has been linked to trade talks in the past, and should he ever head elsewhere, will be a big piece of any team.

What Could’ve Been

North Carolina had one of its worst seasons in recent memory in Anthony’s lone year. However, it was not due to his play. He was constantly forced to take and force shots late in the shot clock. When he went down with a meniscus injury, the team collapsed. Before that, Anthony and the Tar Heels had climbed to 6th in the country. When he came back, it was too late. Had Anthony been able to play with the team before the one he was on, or even the one after, there is no telling how good that team would’ve been.

Anthony has a bright future ahead!
