5-Star UNC Commit Scores Playoff Game Winner

Published

on

The UNC commit continues to impress.

North Carolina commit Ian Jackson hit the game-winner last night. The 5-star plays for Jelly Fam in the Overtime Elite system. Currently locked into a best 2-out-of-3 with team Cold Hearts, Jackson made a big play to extend the series into a winner-take-all final.

Game-Winner

Jackson caught the ball near the top of the key, where his teammate came to set a screen. Rather than use it, Jackson faked as though he was going around it, hit a smooth crossover to get into the paint, and made a contested layup, giving his team the lead and eventual win.

Before the play, you can hear Cam Wilder say, “That’s who you get the ball to right there, Ian Jackson.”

Game 1 and 2 Stats

Jackson played well in both. The third and final game is on Sunday, February 25th. The winner moves on.

Game 1: Although his team lost, Jackson finished with 21 points, three rebounds, three assists, and five steals.

Game 2: On the night he hit the game winner, Jackson had 19 points on 46.2% shooting. He added five rebounds and two assists as well.

Updated Recruiting Profile

Jackson has maintained his 5-star ranking with big performances and consistency. He continues to be an elite scorer and is lethal in isolation situations. 247Sports has him ranked as the #8 player in the 2024 class.

Will Jackson and his squad do enough to advance?
