Another top 10 win for UNC!

North Carolina took down a previously undefeated Oklahoma squad last night. It was an impressive all-around performance with an improved defensive effort.

Defense Wins Games

The Tar Heels flipped the script of the Kentucky loss. In that game, it was the Tar Heels who turned the ball over constantly. Last night, UNC was able to force 18 turnovers while also blocking six shots. It was also the first time since the Northern Iowa game that North Carolina held an opponent under 70 points. Cormac Ryan, in particular, was impressive in staying in front of who he was guarding. Armando Bacot also accounted for three blocks.

Balanced Scoring

RJ Davis: 23 points.

Armando Bacot: 14 points.

Cormac Ryan: 13 points.

Harrison Ingram: 11 points.

North Carolina had four players score in double digits. The flexibility in options helped the Tar Heels push the lead multiple times.

Battle For Brady

UNC should now be able to claim Brady Manek forever. The former North Carolina forward was a leader on the 2022 team that went to the national championship. His intensity, shot-making, and overall attitude made Manek a fan favorite for the Tar Heels in his lone season. Before coming to UNC, he spent his previous four years at Oklahoma. At North Carolina, Manek had his highest scoring season, averaging 15.1 points per game.

Huge win for UNC before Christmas!
