UNC used a big second half to down the Wolfpack.

North Carolina completed another season sweep of NC State on Saturday. After a back-and-forth first 20 minutes, the Tar Heels went into the break down by eight. The second half was completely different, with UNC catching up quickly and maintaining a double-digit lead for most of it.

Game Story

Although it was a battle for much of the opening half, the Tar Heels could not stop NC State’s hot-shooting. The Wolfpack went 7/11 from three, and ended up leading by eight at the break.

However, in the second half, North Carolina went at NC State early and often, drawing fouls and quickly erasing the deficit. A balanced effort saw UNC run right by them, grabbing a 10-point lead. Although it would be cut late in the game, the Tar Heels remained in control, eventually winning by nine.
