Congrats to Gainer for declaring for the draft!
North Carolina jack Amari Gainer has declared for the NFL draft. He spent one season in Chapel Hill. Before that, he was with Florida State for four years. Now, he is able to live his dream and pursue a career at the next level!
Season at UNC
In his lone year with UNC, Gainer totaled 24 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 2 pass deflections. He was very good off the edge and showed that he could be a playmaker. In his post, Gainer said, “Thank you Jesus, for granting me this platform to inspire people and be the light in two great communities. In Tallahassee, where I lived out a childhood dream by staying home and playing for my dream school, Florida State University. I had the opportunity to leave my legacy in my hometown. Also, at the University of North Carolina, where everyone welcomed me with open arms, I will always be grateful for the times spent here in Chapel Hill.”
With Florida State
In four seasons at FSU, Gainer accumulated 210 tackles and 6 sacks. Out of high school, he was ranked as a 4-star and the 259th best player in his class. Gainer had offers from all over the country.
Thank you for your time at Carolina, and good luck in your future!
