UNC players are getting it done on the field!

North Carolina has been getting it done on the field. That is in large part due to the two players who were awarded by the ACC this week. These guys have been impressive all season and are dominating games.

Newcomer

Alijah Huzzie, the transfer from East Tennessee State, has been dominant thus far. He won ACC Specialist of the Week for his punt returns, but did his thing on defense as well. He has not gotten many chances to return punts this season, but now that we have a glimpse of what he can do, let’s hope he can bring back as many as possible. Against Pittsburgh, Huzzie caught a punt and took it to the house from 52 yards out. The second one he returned was for 29 yards.

Although not awarded for this part of his game, Huzzie also had two interceptions and locked up whoever he was covering throughout the game.

Another One

How great has Kaimon Rucker looked? He dominated South Carolina, won Defensive Player of the Week in the opener, and just did it again against Pittsburgh. He finished the night with seven total tackles, five of which were solo, and two sacks. His quickness off the edge has been a nightmare for opposing defenses. Rucker continues to be a constant for a vastly improved North Carolina defense.

It won’t be surprising to see these two win this award a few more times!
