These two Tar Heels have a bright future ahead!

Today, the McDonald’s All-American game rosters were announced. As always, it is an honor to be selected for this, as it shows you are one of the top high school prospects in the country. This year, future Tar Heels Ian Jackson and Drake Powell were selected for the game. They are the first UNC players to make it since 2020 (game was canceled due to Covid-19).

Future Heels

Ian Jackson– A 6’5 shooting guard who is an electric scorer, Jackson can take over games. He scores at all three levels. 247Sports ranks him as the #8 prospect in his class and the #2 shooting guard.

Drake Powell– A do-it-all player, Powell has rapidly risen in the rankings. He is an elite wing defender who has polished his game on offense. Right now, he is ranked as the #9 player nationally and the #2 small forward.

Last UNC Players Selected

2020 was the last time a North Carolina player was selected. RJ Davis, Walker Kessler, Day’Ron Sharpe, and Caleb Love were all in that game before it got canceled. Dawson Garcia, who would later transfer to and from UNC, also played.
