Will either win the award that they are up for?
As we near the end of what has been a really good season for North Carolina, two of its players have been named to award watch lists. Both Armando Bacot and RJ Davis are up for their positions top spot. Caleb Love is up for the same award as Davis.
Jerry West Award Finalists
Five players are fighting to be named the top shooting guard in the country.
- RJ Davis, North Carolina– 21.5 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists.
- Caleb Love, Arizona– 19.3 points per game, 5 rebounds, 3.5 assists.
- Tyson Walker, Michigan State– 18 points per game, 2.9 rebounds, 3 assists.
- Kevin McCullar Jr., Kansas– 19.1 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists.
- Antonio Reeves, Kentucky– 20 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists.
It is a blue-blood award this year, with each nominee coming from a traditional powerhouse school.
Kareem Award Finalists
This award goes to the top center in the country.
- Armando Bacot, North Carolina– 14 points per game, 10.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists.
- PJ Hall, Clemson– 18.8 points per game, 7 rebounds, 1.5 assists.
- Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton– 17.2 points per game, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists.
- Hunter Dickinson, Kansas– 18.2 points per game, 11 rebounds, 2.2 assists.
- Zach Edey, Purdue– 24.1 points per game, 11.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists.
The competition is high on both of these lists, where anyone could take home the award. Will a Tar Heel come out on top for either?
