The Heels look for a win in MSG for the second straight year!

North Carolina takes on the UCONN Huskies tonight in Madison Square Garden. The Tar Heels played a game there last year, coming back from a big deficit, hitting a buzzer-beater to send the game to overtime, and then winning it. Tonight’s game will be a battle of two top-10 teams!

Homecoming Heels

Three Tar Heels are from the area.

R.J. Davis: White Plains, New York.

Cormac Ryan: New York, New York.

Elliot Cadeau: West Orange, New Jersey (20 minutes from Manhattan).

Along with this, UNC has a lot of ties to the city. Ed Cota, Sam Perkins, Kenny Smith, Lennie Rosenbluth, and so many more legends of the program are from the city. Future Tar Heel Ian Jackson is also from the Bronx!

Last Year in MSG

North Carolina faced off with Ohio State last year in the Garden. It was a frustrating one, and the Buckeyes had a big lead with under 10 minutes left. Similar to the recent Florida State game, UNC pressed them, leading to a big comeback. Pete Nance hit a turnaround jumper at the buzzer, sending the game to overtime. The Heels took the lead in the extra period and never looked back.

There are going to be a lot of fans from both schools at this one!
