Ferguson plays 6A competition in Georgia, one of the best high school football scenes in the country.

Below, we asked Zion a few questions so that the fan base could get to know him better. You will see what he brings and some of his goals for this coming season.

Get to know Zion!

What are your goals for your final high school season?

“One of my major goals this year is to be the best leader and team player that I can be. There are only 3 senior defensive backs on our team so it’s important for me to lead by example. I also want to help win a State Championship for Gainesville, and lastly to leave a better player than I came.”

What are you most looking forward to when you arrive on campus?

“I’m looking forward to just getting started. I’m ready to put in the work and play football.”

Are there any players on the Carolina team right now that you are going to watch closely this season?

“Yes actually, Kaleb Cost who is a freshman this year and Marcus Allen. I have trained with both of them and have always followed their games. I’m just looking forward to seeing them play at the next level.”

What was the final factor in your decision to commit to UNC?

“There was not a final factor that led me to my decision to become a Tar Heel. There were a lot of things that stood out for me in my recruitment. The staff and coaches at UNC are “A1”. They include my family and really showed me that UNC is where I should be. I like the plan that coach Mack Brown has for the team. I also like that all of the coaches believe in my ability to fit into the plan.”

What are your predictions for North Carolina this coming season?

“I’m definitely predicting UNC to win the ACC.”
