UNC plays its third game of the season tonight.

North Carolina will host UC Riverside tonight at 8 p.m. This is the final game of three straight home games for the Tar Heels. After tonight, they will head to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. Tonight should be looked at as a tune-up before a brutal end of November, into December schedule.

UC Riverside has Struggled

The UC Riverside Highlanders have not shot the ball well this season.

  • Coming into this game, the Highlanders have a 1-2 record. A solid Utah squad beat them by 29, while Portland downed them by 11.
  • Only two players average at least 10 points per game.
  • Riverside is averaging just 64.3 points per game.
  • They take care of the ball, averaging just 6.3 turnovers this year.
  • Riverside shoots an abysmal 32.5% and just 29.6% from three.

Patching Things Up Before Atlantis

With a big tournament right around the corner, there are still a lot of questions.

  • Can the Tar Heels push an early lead into a blowout? Twice this year they have struggled to separate from inferior opponents until late.
  • Get Cormac Ryan going. The grad-transfer is a very good shooter. Is tonight the night he gets going?
  • Bench play. Who will continue to see minutes off the bench? Hubert Davis has played everyone, but who will play in big games?

The Battle 4 Atlantis starts in just five days!
