Always good to beat Duke!

North Carolina’s current group of seniors beat Duke every time they played. 4-0 against the Blue Devils is something that they should never forget, as in a bitter rivalry, you want to beat the teams you hate the most. So, what were those games like for these guys? Let’s take a look back at the past four games.

2020: Beatdown in Durham

This game was never close. After the first quarter it was 21-0 and at halftime it was 42-10. UNC totaled 573 yards, 378 of which were on the ground, to win 56-24.

2021: Dominating the Devils

Another game that was over early, North Carolina led 24-0 at halftime and won the game 38-7. Current senior Kamari Morales scored a touchdown. In a flip from the previous season, the Tar Heels threw for 321 of their 456 yards.

2022: Bringing the Bell Home

In a game that was a lot different than the previous two, the rivals went at each other until the end. Current senior Elijah Green had a breakout game where he scored two touchdowns. UNC would score to take the lead for good with just 16 seconds left in the game.

2023: Senior Sweep

This back-and-forth game ended with a Carolina victory in double-overtime. The offense dominated a good Duke defense but couldn’t get the stops needed to win in regulation. The overtime periods were tense, but UNC did enough to eek out a win. The seniors were celebrated with a field rush.
