The NFL draft has come and gone with three Tar Heels being selected.

This year’s NFL draft took place from April 25th to April 27th in Detroit, Michigan. Among those selected in the seven-round event were three players out of North Carolina. A number of others signed deals with teams for tryouts this summer.

UNC Draftees

Round 1 | Pick 3: Quarterback Drake Maye was selected with the third overall pick by the New England Patriots. He set many UNC and ACC records during his time with the program. Maye became the second Tar Heel quarterback from North Carolina to be selected in the first round.

Round 4 | Pick 106: Cedric Gray was North Carolina’s best defensive player over the last two years. After being a mid-three star prospect, he worked his way into an impressive career with the Tar Heels. Gray was drafted by the Tennessee Titans.

Round 4 | Pick 113: After a tough run of luck heading into last season, Devontez Walker finally got eligible for UNC. In turn, he became an instant-impact receiver and the team’s main deep threat. Walker showed off his skill in a shortened season and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens.

Undrafted But Signed

The following players did not hear their names called but will have a chance to make the roster through summer camp:

Myles Murphy- Arizona Cardinals

Amari Gainer- Oakland Raiders

British Brooks- Houston Texans

Tomari Fox- Oakland Raiders

Spencer Rolland- Minnesota Vikings

Good luck to all of these Tar Heels in their futures!
