UNC’s opponent is set.
North Carolina got a two-day bye in the ACC Tournament after winning the regular season title and earning the #1 seed. With that, they would play the winner of #8 seed Virginia Tech vs. #9 seed Florida State, both teams that the Tar Heels have played before this year.
Who Will It Be?
These two were very different teams. Similar to the two games they split in the regular season, the Hokies and Seminoles played a close game. For the second time in the three games they played, Florida State came out on top.
Season History
North Carolina and Florida State also played twice in the regular season. UNC won both, but neither were easy. The Seminoles are an athletic team that has a lot of height. Although they struggled in ACC play, they only lost by 15 or more once.
In the first game, FSU had a 16-point lead in the second half. The Tar Heels put on full court pressure that completely flipped the game. UNC would win by eight.
In the second game, things got chippy between Armando Bacot and De’Ante Green, a North Carolina native. Again, the Seminoles had a second half lead, but it wasn’t enough as UNC came back to win by seven.
UNC’s game tomorrow will start at noon.
