It was a great way for the seniors to go out.
North Carolina went into an always emotional senior night and dominated Notre Dame. Outside of the first 10 minutes, the game was never close. Everyone got to play, and it was a nice way for those who had been in the sport for so long to finish up their home careers.
Game Story
The Tar Heels honored seven seniors, and each got to play. The ones who had been a part of the program for the longest were granted the start. RJ Davis, Creighton Lebo, Rob Landry, Duwe Farris, and Armando Bacot were on the court for tip-off, while graduate transfers Cormac Ryan and Paxson Wojcik would come off the bench. The first half stayed competitive for a while, until the UNC defense really ramped it up and the team went on multiple runs.
In the second half, outside of a quick Notre Dame spurt to cut the game to 20, North Carolina dominated. Armando Bacot, RJ Davis, and Cormac Ryan all finished their home careers with double-digit points. Jalen Washington and Harrison Ingram also played major roles in the win.
Final: UNC-84 | Notre Dame- 51

ACC Title
With the win, UNC clinched at least a share of the ACC regular season title. If they beat Duke on Saturday night, they will win it outright, and if they lose, will share it with the Blue Devils. Seeding for the ACC tournament is also tight right now. The Tar Heels will hope for Pittsburgh to finish fourth in the conference, while Duke hopes it will be Clemson.
What a way for the seniors to end their careers in the Smith Center!
