UNC and Boston College played an UGLY game.

North Carolina went to Boston College and came away with a win. The Tar Heels used their depth and toughness to down the Eagles. It wasn’t pretty, but UNC remains undefeated in conference play for now.

First Half

A very sloppy, ugly, slow, foul-riddled first half ended with a 34-31 North Carolina lead. The Tar Heels had multiple players in foul trouble, hindering efforts to push the lead. On the other side of that, Boston College was all over the place early, throwing down a couple of dunks after getting free on cuts. Armando Bacot didn’t even get to attempt a shot in the half due to his two fouls. The bench helped UNC, with a couple of big buckets from Jae’Lyn Withers and Seth Trimble.

Second Half

A lot of the same happened. It was another gritty half, filled with whistles. There was no flow, and it showed in the way the teams shot. The Tar Heels showed toughness once again, flexing down the stretch with a couple of big shots and “and-one” buckets. Bacot came alive, getting his usual double-double.

Stories of the Game

Harrison Ingram with another double-double.

Cormac Ryan knocked down six free throws.

Withers had another big game off the bench.

Final: UNC- 76 |Boston College- 66

Next up: Wake Forest on Monday night!
