Once again, three Tar Heels played last night in the Summer League.

Similar to our last Summer League article, we will go over how North Carolina players fared in the Summer League. There are really four that are on rosters, but only three saw minutes.

Statlines

Pete Nance– Playing increased minutes, Nance showed improvement in his game. The lanky forward scored 11 points, grabbed five rebounds, had two assists, and a block in 19 minutes. Nance knocked down three of his seven three-point attempts. He has not seen a ton of time but has shown his potential when he’s able. If this continues, he could be put on a two-way contract!

Brady Manek– After his impressive first game, Manek was able to impress once again. In just 18 minutes, Manek scored 10 points while securing six rebounds and two blocks. The impressive thing is, he only made one three. He is showing the Hawks that he is more than just a shooter. It seems that his pro experience in Australia is paying off.

Garrison Brooks– With experience in the G-League, Brooks knows what to expect in these games. He scored six points, grabbed six rebounds, and had two blocks in 17 minutes of play. He made both of his field goal attempts in the game.

Leaky Black- For some reason, Black once again did not see minutes. The Charlotte Hornets have been awful during the Summer League. If the starters aren’t producing, why not give everyone on the roster a chance to play? Black could at least provide minutes defending and handling the ball when needed.

As they continue to play, hopefully these Tar Heels can play their way into the association!
