Huge day for UNC running back commit!

North Carolina commit Davion Gause just had an exceptional performance on national TV. His high school, Chaminade-Madonna, faced off against St. Frances. Gause was unstoppable, looking like he should be ranked much higher than his current spot.

Unstoppable

Gause finished the day with 18 rushes for 182 yards and two touchdowns. He found the right gaps and broke off huge runs throughout the game. Gause looked fast and was able to put his team, ranked 9th, over 12th-ranked St. Frances. Being able to play like this against other top talent is why Gause is an Under Armour All-American.

Current Ranking

Gause is a 5’11, 215-pound running back from Hollywood, Florida. He is currently ranked as a 4-star, the 333rd best player in the country, and 27th best running back by 247Sports. He plays a loaded schedule this season, and with performances like that will surely see his ranking rise.

He is a part of North Carolina’s 2024 class and is one of their top-ranked players. Gause has the size to be both a power and speed back, and he showed that today. Doing this on ESPN will surely get more eyes on him. Will other programs try to come in and steal him? You would assume so, but let’s hope Mack Brown can keep him committed and be one of UNC’s featured backs in the near future!
