Just four days away from the opener!

North Carolina has officially opened as 2.5-point favorites over South Carolina. The neutral-site game will give the Tar Heels a tough test to start the season. Vegas currently has UNC as -140 favorites, and the over/under on points is set at 64.5.

Betting?

Should you bet on this game? Probably not. The season opener can be hard to get right. Both teams have not played since December and could be a bit rusty. However, if neither defense has improved, betting the over on 64.5 points would be a good move. Both teams will have to prove they can stop the other. Defense will be a major storyline throughout the year for the Tar Heels.

Neutral Site Test

Playing an SEC team to open the season is always tough. South Carolina has athletes all over the field, and if Carolina doesn’t come out ready, things could get out of hand. Luckily, UNC has Drake Maye and weapons throughout the offense. You can never count a team with Maye out.

History

It is rare that these two play each other anymore. Once a yearly game, South Carolina bolted to the SEC decades ago, and the rivalry faded. However, two games in the last four years has sparked some hatred for one another.

We have said it and will continue to say it: this game will set the tone for the season.
