Not good news for a UNC team playing so well…
It was announced before Saturday’s game that sophomore wide receiver Kobe Paysour will miss some time with an ankle injury. Rumors came about earlier in the week that the injury happened in practice. Paysour had been a constant for the Tar Heels this season after breaking out during his freshman campaign. So far this year, he had caught 22 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns. Paysour did most of his damage in the slot.
What Happens Now
North Carolina will have to lean on its wide receiver depth. Luckily for the Heels, they have recruited the position well over the years and should have multiple players ready to step up. Tez Walker being eligible is now even bigger for the team. Gavin Blackwell has also been working his way back from injury and should be ready to go this weekend. The Tar Heels are fortunate to have such a loaded wide receiver room. Now, the Tar Heels may see some of the younger guys in game action.
Paysour Timeline
Although the specific injury was not announced, ankle injuries usually take a few months. Hopefully he will not miss the rest of the season. Paysour had been fantastic for an explosive UNC offense.
Prayers for Paysour to have a speedy recovery.
