UNC gets a running back!
North Carolina had landed Southern Cal transfer Darwin Barlow. After entering the portal in November, Barlow eventually landed with the Tar Heels. He brings experience and depth to UNC, which has lost three running backs to graduation or the transfer portal this offseason.
Career Stats
Barlow played at TCU before heading to USC. Here are how his stats look throughout his career.
2019: 22 carries for 99 yards and one touchdown. One reception for 10 yards.
2020: 73 rushes for 428 yards and four touchdowns. Nine catches for 44 yards.
2021: 62 rushes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. Four catches for 22 yards.
2022: 16 rushes for 96 yards and three touchdowns. Three receptions for 34 yards.
2023: 8 carries for 81 yards and one touchdown. One catch for 10 yards.
Added Help
Barlow has shown he can play. Going from TCU to USC, he dealt with coaching changes that could have had an impact on his playing time. He will be a nice piece alongside Omarion Hampton and Caleb Hood. The Tar Heels lost British Brooks to graduation and Elijah Green and George Pettaway to the portal. Barlow is a much-needed addition.
Recruiting Profile
Out of high school, Barlow was a 3-star, ranked #423 in the country. From Newton, Texas, he committed to TCU. He left the Horned Frogs for USC and is now headed to Chapel Hill to finish his collegiate career.
