North Carolina has landed yet another receiver in the 2024 class!
Javarius Green, a wide receiver from Shelby, North Carolina, has committed to Mack Brown and UNC. His father, Willie, played at Ole Miss from 1986 to 1989 before going to the NFL and winning two Super Bowls. This is a big addition to a stacked UNC receiver room.
Recruitment and Profile
Originally scheduled to commit on July 18th, Green decided to change the date to his grandmother’s birthday, August 18th. Green made his choice, choosing North Carolina over Michigan State and Alabama. He is listed as a 3-star and the 705st ranked player in 2024.
At 5’10, 190 pounds, Green has good size. This past season for Crest High School, he caught 61 passes for 1,267 yards and 18 touchdowns. That is 20.8 yards per reception. Green makes plays and is an absolute nightmare to stop.
Green joins three other wide receiver commitments in the 2024 class. The group of Alex Taylor, Jordan Shipp, Kenan Jackson, and Javarius Green has the wideout position looking bright for the future.
With 26 commitments in 2024, North Carolina has the 24th-ranked class in the country. That is fourth in the ACC. This is usually around where North Carolina finishes. Green is the last expected commitment for this class.
Now focus can shift fully to 2025, where North Carolina will hope to build on solid recruiting classes over the last few seasons. A good season will help their efforts.
