UNC picks up another recruit!
North Carolina has landed its first 2025 commitment since January. Today, tight end Marshall Pritchett chose UNC over multiple other schools. He becomes the Tar Heels sixth commitment in the junior class and the second tight end.
Recruiting Profile
247Sports lists Pritchett as a three-star and the #30 tight end in the country. From Rabun Gap, Georgia, he is the #57 overall prospect from the state. Pritchett stands at 6’5, 211 pounds.
His school went 13-1 this season, playing schools from different states. According to MaxPreps, Pritchett caught 44 passes for 621 yards and four touchdowns.
In his sophomore season, he caught 44 passes for 688 yards and six touchdowns.
Pritchett chose the Tar Heels over schools like Georgia Tech, Miami, South Carolina, and Wisconsin.
2025 Class
North Carolina now has six commitments in its 2025 class:
- Alex Payne- 4-star offensive tackle
- Bryce Baker- 3-star quarterback
- Kamden Laudenslager- 3-star edge rusher
- Logan Farrell- 3-star tight end
- Marshall Pritchett- 3-star tight end
- Trey Blue- 3-star offensive lineman
It is still early in the junior cycle, so many more prospects can be expected to commit over time. Coaching staff turnover can also cause a different style of recruit to be looked at. The new philosophy on the trail will be interesting to see, as it is sure to be altered.
Congrats to Pritchett, and welcome to Chapel Hill!
