UNC is in the top 10!

North Carolina has jumped all the way to 9th in the newest poll. The Tar Heels won an impressive game in the ACC/SEC challenge and then used an intense run to start ACC play with a win. Now, they face a loaded December schedule.

Top 10 Again

From a historical perspective, UNC fans feel like the team should always be in the top-10. Although the program has seen its fair share of struggles over the last four years, this team feels different. Last year’s squad started off as number one but quickly fell from grace. This team does seem to be different. There is an intensity and edge that have pushed them to wins. They already have a few impressive ones, beating Tennessee, Arkansas, and Florida State.

Outlook

A tough December schedule looms. The Tar Heels play UCONN, Kentucky, and Oklahoma in a row, and all three are ranked neutral-site games. It will put the team to the test. Impressive wins over Tennessee and Arkansas have given everyone reason for optimism. The Tar Heels took it to both of those teams, dominating the number one defense and not backing down to the Hogs. Joe Lunardi of ESPN sees the Tar Heels as a serious Final Four contender early in the season.

Get ready for a wild month!
