North Carolina just got even more serious about NIL.

On Monday morning, it was announced that T.J. Beisner, who was over Kentucky’s NIL department, would be leaving and joining UNC for a similar role. Matt Norlander of CBS Sports reported that Beisner will work with a firm that oversees North Carolina’s player deals and help build an NIL collective.

How Does This Help?

Kentucky has had a great NIL collective for over a decade (kidding), but really, since NIL started, Kentucky has put together a fantastic effort in getting its players paid. Being able to pry Beisner away is interesting as well, as he graduated from Kentucky and was usually helping UK head coach John Calipari. Him leaving to come to Carolina is an interesting move.

UNC NIL

The Tar Heels NIL is no slouch either. UNC has gotten its players deal after deal. There are big-name brands that have partnered with Carolina players over the last few years. Outback, Rhoback, and Crocs are a few that have had ties to the program. With Beisner at the helm, this could really impact recruiting. There will likely be a massive draw to be a part of the North Carolina NIL deals.

North Carolina is making sure it stays ahead in the ever-changing college sports landscape. This move is a big one for the Heels!
