Huge win for UNC!

North Carolina just went to Clemson and picked up a big road win. The Tar Heels outstanding defense stifled the Tigers. UNC continues to look like itself again!

First Half

A back-and-forth half where both teams struggled to shoot the three ended in a 34-34 tie. Ian Schiefflin of Clemson took it to the Tar Heels, scoring 12 points and out-hustling opponents to rebounds. Carolina did a good job of stopping Tigers star PJ Hall. It was Cormac Ryan who paced UNC, playing through a rolled ankle. Unfortunately, North Carolina struggled to get to the foul line, while Clemson shot 13 free throws during the opening period.

Second Half

Things got chippy pretty quick. A lot of contact allowed during UNC possessions caused the two teams to start talking and playing extra-physical. North Carolina started shooting better from three, getting big shots from Paxson Wojcik and Seth Trimble to push a small lead. After that, Armando Bacot went to work, getting a couple of tough buckets down low. The Tar Heels kept slowly building a lead and never looked back.

Final: UNC-65 Clemson-55

Story of the Game

DEFENSE!- North Carolina held Clemson, who scores 82.2 points per game, to just 55 points.

The Tigers shot 1-17 from three.

ACC Player of the Year candidate PJ Hall only scored 10 points before fouling out.
