UNC is one of only a few schools!

On Twitter, it was announced that music artist Drake and his brand ‘October’s Very Own’ (OVO) struck a deal to partner with a number of colleges. Today, September 29th, the clothing items were released.

What is Releasing?

It is a limited-edition clothing line that features a hat, letterman-style jacket, hoodie, shirt, and shorts. They feature looks showing Rameses, as well as the OVO logo. Some of the pieces have the script ‘Tar Heels’ written on them.

Pricing

Varsity Jacket: $328

Hoodie: $168

T-Shirt: $68

Shorts: $98

Hat: $68

Schools Included

Alongside North Carolina, schools featured were Kentucky, Alabama, Memphis, and Texas.

Why is this News?

Drake is one of the biggest artists, not only in the world, but of all time. He is featured in multiple genres of music and is known worldwide. He has an impressive 12 Number 1 hits, as well as 70 in the top ten. Drake has a large following, and this showcases the Tar Heels brand. It puts positive exposure on UNC as being one of the few teams to partner with such a large influence. It is a cool opportunity that, obviously, very few schools get. Things like this may seem small, but can impact recruiting in a huge way.
