UNC has its matchup for the Sweet 16.

North Carolina used bug runs against Michigan State to advance to the next round of the NCAA Tournament. They would have to wait a day to find out their opponent, which would be one of Alabama or Grand Canyon. Now, the Tar Heels know who, when, and where they will play.

Who? When? Where?

UNC will take on Alabama in Los Angeles, California. The game will be played on Thursday night at 9:39 p.m.

The winner will move on to the Elite 8 against either Arizona or Clemson.

What to Know About Alabama

The Crimson Tide have one of the best offenses in the country. They average 90.8 points per game and have four players who average at least 11. Guard Mark Sears is one of the best players in the country, averaging 21.5.

Alabama also averages 39.6 rebounds per game, although no single player averages more than 5.4.

North Carolina has been heralded all season as one of the best defensive teams in the country. That will be put to the test on Thursday night. According to KenPom.com, Alabama has the fourth-best adjusted offensive efficiency, while the Tar Heels rank sixth in adjusted defensive efficiency. On the flip side, in those same metrics, UNC’s offense is ranked 16th and ‘Bamas defense is 101st.

Thursday night should be a fast-paced, fun game!
