Just one of those nights for UNC.

North Carolina continues to struggle in Atlanta, as they lost their first ACC game of the year to Georgia Tech. After getting up by double-digits in the first half, the Tar Heels let the Yellow Jackets climb back in the game. After that, there was a lid on the basket for a few Tar Heels.

What Happened?

  • UNC got up double-digits and let GT climb back.
  • GT Guard Kyle Sturdivant averages 8 points per game, scored 18.
  • GT Guard Myles Kelly had averaged 6 points per game in his last three, scored 15.
  • Elliot Cadeau was called for five fouls in a single half.
  • Harrison Ingram and Cormac Ryan combined to shoot 6-28.
  • Free Throws: 9-17

Atlanta Curse

Somehow, UNC always seems to struggle playing in Atlanta. Just this year, North Carolina has lost to Georgia Tech and Kentucky in that city. Let’s not even get started on football, where the Tar Heels always struggle. It is not a place that has been kind to UNC in past years.

Georgia Tech made some outrageous shots. They are the first ACC team to score more than 70 points against UNC this season. Now, the Tar Heels have to refocus for a Saturday night matchup with bitter rival Duke.

Will North Carolina take the loss in stride and respond on Saturday night?
