UNC and Michigan State played for the sixth time in the NCAA Tournament.

North Carolina faced Michigan State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels got punched early but did not go down. They fought back and ended up winning the game by double-digits.

Game Story

The first half got off to a rough start. The Spartans kept hitting shots, and UNC couldn’t stop them. Tyson Walker was hot early. With 8:42 to go in the opening half, Michigan State was up 12. The Tar Heels would go on an 18-2 run to retake the lead and go up by nine headed into the break.

Michigan State quickly caught up when the second half started. It went back and forth for a while, but at around the nine minute mark, UNC took control. Huge defensive plays from Seth Trimble kept the Tar Heels ahead. Armando Bacot was dominant all night, and with Harrison Ingram knocking down threes, North Carolina pulled away. RJ Davis once again played like an All-American.
