After a rocky start, UNC dominated the Camels.

In North Carolina’s only FCS game of the season, they did what they were supposed to. It was not pretty early on, but UNC found its groove and was able to cruise to a win.

Game Story

There was a lot of frustration from the crowd heading after the first quarter. It was tied 7-7, and the Tar Heels still seemed to be out of it. After the last two weeks, this was a game to fix things. When the second quarter started, things began to get out of hand. UNC scored 21 points in the second, and it could’ve been 24 if not for an odd miscommunication by the field goal unit.

Second Half

North Carolina continued to push its big lead after halftime. The point differential was enough that UNC was able to put in its young guys and see what they had. Backup quarterback Conner Harrell looked great in his time. He broke off a huge run for a touchdown and delivered a beautiful ball to freshman wideout Chris Culliver for a 41-yard score.

Players of the Game

Drake Maye- 16/23 passing for 244 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Omarion Hampton- 15 carries for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Bryson Nesbit- Six catches for 78 yards.

Tez Walker- Two catches for 41 yards and 2 touchdowns.

J.J. Jones- Three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown.

Cedric Gray- Nine tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss.

The Youth- North Carolina’s young guys looked very good in their time on the field.

North Carolina takes on Duke next Saturday in Kenan Stadium.
