You can watch Powell play in Raleigh for $20!
North Carolina commit Drake Powell is set to play in one of the best holiday tournaments in the country. Every year, the John Wall Holiday Invitational is played at Broughton High School in Raleigh. It is filled with some of the best talent in the country from both prep and public schools. This season is no different.
Future Tar Heel
Powell and his school, Northwood, will play their first game of the tournament on December 28th at 5 p.m. He will be facing the number one player in North Carolina in the 2026 class, Cole Cloer. Hubert Davis has Powell committed and is recruiting Cloer.
Powell will play every day from the 28th through the 30th, win or lose. He is currently ranked 4th in the 2024 class and is a 5-star prospect. As a 6’6 wing, Powell has dramatically improved his game over the last year and a half, shooting up the rankings.
