Another big game for Powell.
Drake Powell and his Northwood squad are playing in the championship game of the Devonte Graham bracket in the John Wall Holiday Invitational today. To get there, he has had to match up with a budding sophomore, Cole Cloer who is getting national attention, and now Paul McNeil, a future rival.
Powell Goes Off
Powell and Northwood faced off with McNeil and Richmond. According to all that were there, Powell looked as good as advertised. He scored 30 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Powell has been playing elite competition for some time now, and is making it known that he can play against the best and succeed.
McNeil is a 4-star recruit headed to NC State next year. The two have very similar builds and will be important to their college squads next season.
Game One
Powell took on sophomore Cole Cloer in their first game of the tournament. He scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Cloer is someone UNC has taken a look at, and is only a sophomore.
Who’s Next?
Next up for Powell and Northwood is Reidsville, one of the best teams in the state. They feature a dual-sport star in Kendre Harrison. As a football player, Harrison is ranked as the #5 player in the country. In basketball, ESPN ranks him the #19 player in his class. He is only a sophomore.
Powell is bringing it in every game!
