The Tar Heels are fighting for Tez!
At 12 p.m. Monday, the UNC Board of Trustees will hold an emergency scheduled meeting. With a lot of speculation going around, it was eventually announced that the matter at hand was Tez Walker’s eligibility. UNC is not backing down and is still looking for ways that Walker will be able to play this season.
What we Know
As we know, Walker has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA, which seems not to care about the facts of the case. Walker underwent a strenuous process, applying for waivers in order to be eligible. After months, Walker was finally told he would not be able to play next season.
What’s Next?
Now, the Board of Trustees will be doing their due diligence in order to find ways to make Walker immediately eligible. There are a number of avenues to go down, but it seems a lawsuit is imminent. If that does happen, Walker and the Tar Heels will have an argument, and may be able to get this thing sorted out. Walker may have to sue UNC as part of his case against the NCAA, but that is part of the process and not making a threat against the school. Players have had to do this in the past. The coming days will be a lot of fun!
The NCAA should know better than to mess with UNC. As always, free Tez!
