UNC showed who the better blue was!

North Carolina and Duke completed their baseball series yesterday. It was the final varsity sport the two will meet in during this year’s school cycle (unless they meet in the ACC Tournament or NCAA Tournament). In nearly every sport, the Tar Heels got the better of their bitter rivals.

Better Blue

UNC either beat, tied, or split the series with Duke in the following:

Field Hockey: UNC won 2-1.

Volleyball: UNC won the series in five sets (3-2).

Men’s Soccer: UNC won 2-1.

Women’s Soccer: Tie.

Football: UNC won 47-45 in double-overtime.

Wrestling: UNC won 41-9.

Men’s Basketball in Chapel Hill: UNC won 93-84.

Men’s Basketball in Durham: UNC won 84-79.

Women’s Basketball: Split the series.

Men’s Lacrosse: UNC won 15-12.

Women’s Lacrosse: UNC won 16-11.

Women’s Tennis: UNC beat Duke twice (regular season and ACC Tournament).

Baseball: UNC won the three-game series (2-1).

GDTBATH

In 13 games across nine different sports, UNC beat Duke. Many of those contests were close and had thrilling finishes. Whether it was volleyball rallying, football in a nail-biter, basketball sweeping, or any of the other victories, they were fun to watch. Baseball

The baseball team is now headed to the ACC Tournament and will look to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament afterward.

It is a great day to be a Tar Heel!
