A great week for UNC!

In a week of college basketball where most ranked teams struggled, North Carolina was dominant. The Tar Heels went to Raleigh and picked up a big road win, then returned home to Chapel Hill and handed Syracuse its worst ACC loss to date. All of this happened while the teams around UNC were upset. Because of these things, North Carolina is now ranked #4 in the nation!

UNC’s Dominant Week

At NC State: North Carolina held the Wolfpack to just 54 points. UNC wasn’t great on offense, but that defensive effort was more than enough to help secure the win. Harrison Ingram grabbed 19 rebounds in this game.

Syracuse: This one was never close. The Tar Heels got out to an early lead and kept their foot on the gas. It was an offensive outburst while playing just as well on defense. Everyone got involved in this game, and UNC won it 103-67.

Top 10 Woes

Last week, all of the following lost:

#1 Purdue

#2 Houston (twice)

#3 Kansas

#5 Tennessee

#6 Kentucky

#8 Arizona

#9 Oklahoma (twice)

#10 Illinois

A lot more in the top 25 lost as well. It was a tough week for ranked teams, but North Carolina and UConn remained strong. Both teams were rewarded, as they moved up in the poll.

Now, it is up to the Tar Heels to continue winning and bolstering their resume.
