Hansbrough speaks about the drama.

A couple of months ago, on Theo Pinson’s ‘Run Your Race’ podcast, John Wall brought up beef between him and Tyler Hansbrough. Wall said North Carolina was the only school that could’ve pulled him away from playing for Coach Calipari. Seconds later, Wall said that on a visit to UNC, he walked up to Hansbrough, trying to talk, and Hansbrough said, “I don’t talk to recruits.” Since this happened, Psycho T has denied it.

Hansbrough Sets the Record Straight

Hansbrough went on Pinson’s podcast this week and told his side of the story. When asked about the situation, he said he has asked all of his teammates when exactly Wall was on campus, and no one has an answer. No one remembers Wall visiting during that time frame. Hansbrough said, “I tried to put the pieces together, and sure enough, I realized this didn’t happen.” He also said that if you played for Coach Roy Williams and said that to a recruit, “it was game over.” Pinson told him that if what he said to Wall was true, that Williams would have run him to death.

The Drama

When Wall said those things earlier this year, social media blew the story up. It went viral, and people blamed Hansbrough for UNC missing out on a huge prospect. However, it sounds like no one on that Carolina team can even remember Wall being on a visit to Chapel Hill. It is also not documented that Wall ever did take a visit, as UNC reportedly cooled on his recruitment after he got into legal trouble.

One says it happened, the other says it didn’t. Who do you believe?
