These two Tar Heels are out.

North Carolina announced that sophomore guard Seth Trimble is out for tonight’s game. Although the exact injury was not stated, a vague explanation was given. Creighton Lebo is out as well.

Out Tonight

The UNC basketball social media account put a post out saying that Trimble is dealing with an upper-body injury. Similar to other North Carolina sports teams, the specific injury is not stated. Lebo was listed out with an illness. Hopefully, both will be able to return against Miami on Saturday.

Impact

With Trimble out, North Carolina loses one of its best on-ball defenders and someone who has made strides on offense. His athleticism impacts the game constantly. Trimble is coming off of a 10 point game against Duke, where he made multiple big plays, especially on the fast break. This season, he is averaging 5.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and shooting 45.6%. Trimble has also been good shooting from the corners. His defensive presence is important to North Carolina, as he is constantly tasked with defending the other team’s best guard while playing. Trimble would have been tasked with guarding Clemson’s very talented backcourt. Who will play in his place?

Although Lebo does not play much, he has been good while given time.

Other Tar Heels will have to pick up their production.
