These two Heels are having a good year!

The John R. Wooden Award midseason candidates have been announced, and two North Carolina players are on the list. RJ Davis and Armando Bacot have paced UNC this season and have helped them get into the top 10. If they continue their high level of play, North Carolina will have a great year.

Big Season For Both

It isn’t a surprise that these two were the ones nominated for the award. Bacot, a fifth-year senior, and Davis, a senior, have been through a lot with UNC. They know what it takes and have seen the highs and lows of college basketball. Each is doing what is needed for the team to win.

Bacot: 14.9 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. Shooting 52.9%

Davis: 20.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. Shooting 43.4%

Growth

Both have continued to grow, as we are seeing progression in their games. Davis has taken his game to the next level this season, dominating and scoring in many different ways. Meanwhile, Bacot has always been a consistent and solid player. He is a double-double machine, and his inside presence has made him a nightmare for opposing teams. North Carolina is having a good year, and that is due in large part to these two who have stuck it out in Chapel Hill.

Congratulations to both on this honor!
