Should the Tar Heels have had more?
North Carolina had two players earn All-ACC awards for the preseason. Obviously, they will have to prove it on the court. On top of that, the Tar Heels may be slept on in terms of where they are projected to finish.
All-ACC First Team
Armando Bacot was the only UNC player named to an All-ACC team. The fifth-year big man has been a consistent in the program over the last few seasons. Last season, Bacot averaged a double-double and broke the UNC rebounding record. There will be a lot expected of Bacot this season.
ACC Rookie of the Year
One of the best freshmen in the country, Elliot Cadeau is the preseason ACC Rookie of the Year. Fans and national media alike are expecting him to improve this UNC team. His much-talked-about passing ability will likely open the floor for the Tar Heels. UNC will need him to be as advertised in order to be great this season.
Snubbed?
R.J.Davis was missing from the first or second team All-ACC predictions. A strange omission considering he averaged 16.1 points, 5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists last year. It will not be a shock if he leads the ACC in scoring this season. Davis will also be able to play off the ball more with the influx of ball handlers to Chapel Hill.
Projected Finish
North Carolina is projected to finish third behind Duke and Miami in the ACC. Time will tell, but this is a veteran UNC team that should be up for any challenge they are faced with.
How they play on the court is what really matters here.
