North Carolina announced that two of its seven home games have already sold out!
With high expectations for next season, North Carolina football has already sold out two games. The games on September 9th, against Appalachian State, and on November 11th, against Duke, have no tickets remaining. Both are in-state matchups that will have big ramifications on how the season goes.
Against the Two Last Season
The App State game last season was a back-and-forth classic between the two, with North Carolina eventually coming out on top. After the Tar Heels built a nice lead in the fourth quarter, App State stormed back, scoring 40 points in the fourth quarter. Ultimately, North Carolina did enough to get the win. These two schools have a lot of ties to one another, with App State having many alumni who root for North Carolina in other sports. That could explain why this was such a hot ticket.
The Duke game needs no explanation. North Carolina’s biggest rival in a game where both teams have good offenses is enough to sell it out. On top of that, the game in Durham was an all-time classic between the two. North Carolina looked ready to blow Duke out in the third before the Blue Devils capitalized on mistakes and took the lead late in the fourth. With under 20 seconds left, Drake Maye hit Antoine Green in the edge of the endzone to take the lead and win the game.
Other home games include Minnesota, Syracuse, Miami, Virginia, and Campbell. Be there, be loud, and be into the game!
