One UNC commit is on the move.
North Carolina commit Ian Jackson has decided to transfer. He had been playing at Cardinal Hayes High School in New York, but will not be a part of Our Savior Lutheran, also in New York. They are a part of the Overtime Elite league in high school basketball.
Jackson as a Player
As we have reported before, Jackson is an electric player who scores at will. He can get buckets at all three levels and is very athletic as well. In AAU season, Jackson dominated, and then went up against multiple top recruits in the Slam! Classic, scored 45 points and won MVP. He is undeniably one of the best players in the country and is ranked as such on multiple recruiting sites.
Reason to Worry?
Overtime Elite has a very spotty history. There are questions over development of their players, motives in “helping” certain kids, and what they really want. With past rumors hinting that Jackson wasn’t as set as some thought on North Carolina, this is not a development that Tar Heel fans want to see. Hubert Davis and his staff will have to stay on Jackson and hope to keep him committed as the season stretches on.
Hopefully this will not hurt Jackson’s chances of coming to UNC. He would be a loved addition to the program.
