Pinson and Bradley make their picks!

Theo Pinson had Tony Bradley on his podcast called “Run Your Race.” On it, they discussed multiple things, but what will stick out to UNC fans is who was underrated on that 2017 national title team. The podcast is a great listen. It gives you an inside perspective on Pinson’s career, and goes in depth with the guest.

Who Did They Pick?

Theo Pinson talked about how underrated Luke Maye was. He said, “People don’t even understand, Luke was cooking in practice. What Luke did after the year (Tony Bradley) left was not a shock to anybody, like he was nice.” Maye hit one of the most iconic shots in UNC history during that title run, but hadn’t seen a lot of time on the year. He was used as a backup, averaging only 14 minutes per game. Obviously, we know what he became, as he is a beloved figure in the program. His junior and senior seasons were great.

Tony Bradley’s pick was Stillman White. He said, “My first year though, when I came in, who shocked me too was Stillman, Stillman was cooking too.” White’s first season was 2011-2012, where he was forced to start in the NCAA tournament after an injury to Kendall Marshall. After that season, he went on his Mormon mission. He returned in 2014 and would play a backup role for the next three seasons. On the 2016-2017 title run, White came into the game against Kentucky and drew some important fouls on De’Aaron Fox.
