The Tez Walker Affect

Tez Walker

With Walker free, UNC gains another target!

We all know the story now. The NCAA made another dumb decision, ruling UNC’s Tez Walker ineligible. After a drawn out fight with media, fan, and legal support in favor of UNC, the NCAA reversed their decision.

He’s Back!

Well, Walker was back in action on Saturday, and looked good. He hadn’t taken game snaps since last November at Kent State. Although he didn’t start, Walker subbed in during the first quarter and caught his first pass with the Tar Heels. Subsequently, the crowd erupted. The fans in the stadium got loud anytime he was shown on screen, caught a pass, or was subbed into the game. He also was included as a new member in the weekly “I’m (insert name), and I am a Tar Heel” video. That got Kenan Stadium going. All game long, there was anticipation whenever Walker was on the field. Everyone wanted to see him do well and show off his ability. It was clear that the UNC community loves and will support Walker throughout his career.

Stats

Walker finished the game with six catches for 43 yards. He showcased his athleticism with a catch near the sideline where it looked like he jumped five feet into the air. His emergence will only bolster North Carolina’s success. Walker is an incredible talent that adds to a loaded UNC wide receiver room.

It is good to have Walker playing in a UNC uniform!
