Let’s hope Tez will be able to play!

After the NCAA ruled Tez Walker ineligible, North Carolina filed an appeal. Walker was denied eligibility as he is at his fourth school. However, this is only the second football team he will be a part of due to circumstances out of his control. On top of that, the rule that deemed Tez ineligible was created AFTER he transferred to North Carolina. It is completely senseless and adds to the list of horrible decisions the NCAA has made.

Frustration

Obviously, this has not been an easy process for Walker or North Carolina. Walker wanted to transfer home, be closer to family, and have them see him play. It has taken a toll on his mental health and is becoming a bigger problem for the NCAA. Mack Brown is not happy about it either. He has scorned the NCAA multiple times. “I can’t express my disappointment in the NCAA strong enough” Brown said.

National Media Outcry

During North Carolina’s win over South Carolina Saturday night, the announcers grilled the NCAA over their ruling. This is a case that seems so simple, yet the ones who make it complicated always do. On social media, particularly Twitter, coaches, analysts, announcers, and many others have shown their support for Walker.

Thursdays Ruling

Should Walker be ruled ineligible again tomorrow, Mack Brown has brought up the option of taking legal action. Brown mentioned that he hoped the NCAA would do the right thing, ending this case that should have never begun. As usual, the NCAA has made things harder than they need to be. Walker has been preparing as if he would start. He did so before the South Carolina game and is now doing the same before App State.

Should he play next week, expect fireworks from the transfer. He will be ready.
