South Carolina and North Carolina face off in just over a week.

Tez Walker and North Carolina are still awaiting word on whether his appeal for eligibility will be reversed or remain denied. Rumor is, we will all hear what the outcome is very soon. This makes sense as the game is next Saturday, and North Carolina would like to see it’s number one receiver and top transfer face off against the Gamecocks.

Shane Beamer’s Thoughts

South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer was with 247Sports Brandon Marcello yesterday. Marcello brought the topic up to Beamer who said, “To me personally, I think it’d be a shame if he wasn’t eligible.” It is nice to see that even an opposing coach is in support of a case that should already be over. Walker was denied eligibility on a rule that was created AFTER he transferred.

Tez’s Struggle

Walker has shared his thoughts about how difficult this process has been for him. Transferring home so his grandmother could watch him play, as well as the toll it has taken on his mental health are both reasons this decision looms large. North Carolina has hinted that they believe the NCAA will make the right choice on this.

Hopefully this is all put to rest in the coming days so that North Carolina has it’s number one receiver ready to play.
