Seth Trimble is Out Again Today

Trimble is out again.

After Hubert Davis gave a positive update on Seth Trimble yesterday, things looked positive for the Tar Heel guard. He had missed the Clemson game, which UNC lost. It was clear that he was needed, as Clemson guard Joe Girard scored 21 points. In the earlier matchup that Trimble played, Girard only scored five.

Status for Miami

Announced by Jon Rothstein on X (Twitter), Trimble will not play against Miami. He is still dealing with an upper-body injury.

The Tar Heels will miss his defensive presence, as Miami is a guard-heavy team that relies on its backcourt. Three of the Hurricanes starting guards combine for 42.1 points per game. It will be a heavy ask and potentially prolonged minutes for Elliot Cadeau. Staying out of foul trouble will be important in this one.

Positive Outlook

Yesterday, Hubert Davis said that Trimble has continued to improve and is getting better every day. After today, UNC doesn’t play again until Tuesday, giving him more time to recover.

What Now?

North Carolina will have to look to the bench for production. Against Clemson, Paxson Wojcik gave UNC solid minutes, scoring seven points and grabbing six rebounds. He had seen very little action since early in the season, but looked encouraging against the Tigers.

Hopefully, Trimble will be ready to go against Syracuse.
