Rucker seems ready to go!

North Carolina jack Kaimon Rucker has decided whether or not to play in the bowl game. He was the Tar Heels most impactful player on the line. His decision will have a major impact for the UNC defense.

Will he Play?

TarHeelIllustrated was on the scene for player interviews today. When asked about whether or not he would play in the bowl game, Rucker said he could’ve opted out, but “I’m committed to this team.” Having Rucker for this game is big, especially with so many players opting out or transferring.

Another Year?

Michael Koh, who was also at the interviews, tweeted that Rucker has been weighing his options but is “leaning heavily” toward coming back for a fifth and final season. Another season with Rucker on the squad? Yes please! He has been a constant over the last four seasons. If he isn’t sacking the quarterback, he’s probably getting held. Rucker was a nightmare for every team UNC faced. He has improved every single season, and if he does come back, expect him to get even better.

Dominant 2023

This year was Rucker’s best yet. He totaled 56 tackles, 8.5 sacks, forced a fumble, and recovered one too.

He was named Second-Team All-ACC this season.

Tar Heel nation is glad to have Rucker for the bowl game!
