What a performance by the Tar Heel!
Kaimon “The Butcher” Rucker was just announced as the Walter Camp National Player of the Week! The UNC stud put on a masterful performance and was unstoppable throughout the night.
Stats
Rucker finished the night with 8 tackles, 2 sacks, and 5.5 tackles for loss. He was constantly in the backfield, whether getting to South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler or being on top of the running back as soon as he was given the ball. Rucker looked as good as we have seen him yet. Often seen as a sort of “Swiss army knife”, Rucker made his presence felt constantly. He was disruptive, and no matter who he lined up against, found the right spot and made a play.
Can’t Be Stopped
Rucker has been one of the Tar Heels best defensive players for years now. However, last night was a new level. Even in the thumbnail for the article, you can see that Rucker was being held often throughout the night, with it going uncalled. That didn’t matter at the end of the day, as he and the UNC front seven made sure Rattler was uncomfortable all night long. This was one of the best performances by a UNC defensive player in years.
Should Rucker look like this consistently, First Team All-ACC will be no issue for the North Carolina senior!
